In order to support players at the highest level, the third-party ‘collective model has become the new standard in College Football to pool money and facilitate NIL opportunities for their university’s student-athletes. Collectives allow for membership fees to directly impact the lives of current student-athletes.

USC built a policy that empowers student-athletes to earn NIL compensation in a manner that is consistent with NCAA rules, California’s Fair Pay to Play Act, and the culture and mission of USC. Permissible NIL opportunities must be consistent with California state law and must avoid pay-for-play and improper inducements tied to choosing to attend a particular school.
